TRACY SADDLES UP FOR CHARITY -AGAIN

Allensmore-based horsewoman, Tracy Reynolds is on the fund-raising trail again and will be riding across Southern Chile this month in aid of Spinal Research. Tracy, a well-known owner on the harness racing circuits, is an inspiration. Having raised a substantial amount of money on a previous trek across the Jordan desert a couple of years ago, she was determined to continue her fund raising efforts despite being diagnosed with breast-cancer in 2002. Most of that year was shadowed by punitive chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, but she still managed to abseil down the walls of Eastnor Castle in aid of the RNIB. Recovering her skills in the saddle in 2003, she began to plan her next adventure. On February 19th, Tracy will be leaving her family to fly to Santiago en route to Punta Arenas. She and ten other intrepid riders will then spend the next fortnight riding across the wild landscape of the Torres Pine National Park, retracing the ride taken by famous Victorian explorer, Lady Florence Dixie. Tracy, who has been christened 'The Allensmore Action Woman' by her friends, is looking forward to another new experience, but knows it will be demanding. "I'm practising as much as I can," she said cheerfully, "But the terrain and weather are a bit different!" Spinal Research is a cause always close to the hearts of all equestrians, and any donations to enhance Tracy's admirable efforts would be much appreciated. She can be contacted on 01981 570327.
