Race 1 - Heat 1 of The Racenight Handicap

1st - Shires Hot Shot (Stuart McKenzie)

2nd - Jojo (John Kemp)

3rd - Touch of Fame (Alex Turner)

Time - 2:11.4 :: 6 Ran :: Distance 3L/½L

Jojo looked like walking away with the race until John pulled the earplugs on the back straight when a couple of lengths clear and it just chucked it, Stuart won the race with Shires Hot Shot. (Bigreddog broke going away and never settled)

Race 2 - Heat 2 of The Racenight Handicap

1st - Dilly's Decision (Gordon Gilvear)

2nd - Coalford Direct (Willie Drysdale)

3rd - Gold Strike (Hugh Menzies)

Time - 2:11.6 :: 6 ran :: Distance 1L/1L

The old faithful won this - Dillys Decision, he looked to be out and going back the way with a lap to go but he rallied round and did the biz on the home straight getting up to beat Coalford Direct

Race 3 - Maiden & Novice Class

1st - Red Rover (Richard Thomson)

2nd - The Playboy (Willie Drysdale)

3rd - Pacific Heights (Alex Turner)

Time - 2:18.6 :: 4 Ran :: Distance ½L/4L

What a race - Pacific Heights led up till the bell and The Playboy and Red Rover (who had been having a right old duel up to this point) caught him up, Playboy then looked like taking the lead when he nearly landed on his head, after breaking on the back stretch, he came back down and he and Red Rover battled to the wire with Red Rover just getting there. Alec MacDonalds horse broke at the start and went away to the back off the field, I don't know what happened near the end or after the race but when I next looked out of the office window, the horse was loose and Alec was walking down the back stretch

Race 4 - Maiden, Novice & Intermediate Class

1st - Hollywood Star (Dougie McKenzie)

2nd - Skippy's Beauty (John Kemp)

3rd - Frosty Flyer (Alex McDonald)

Time - 2:17.2 :: 5 Ran :: Distance 1L/3L

Alec's other horse broke badly at the start and there was a recall. The restart was a bit dodgy as Hollywood Star and Annie Direct were level with Alec going away where they should have been giving him 10yds. Quite a good race with Hollywood Star getting up on the home stretch to win by a length

Race 5 - Final of the Racenight Handicap

1st - Ima swell (George Drysdale)

2nd - Jojo (John Kemp)

3rd - Shires Hot Shot (Stuart McKenzie)

Time - 2:12.5 :: 8 Ran :: Distance ½L/1L

Ima Swell won this, George Drysdale now has arms like an Orangutang, I thought he was going for a sleep the way he was lying flat out in the cart before the race. Jojo looked like winning this one again but just tired on the home stretch. Ally MacKenzie was quite happy as he had first and third (Shires) in the final
