The racing this week was quite exciting, most of the races being decided in the last few strides going to the finish line. All that is apart from race 4, which saw DJs Merlin prove that she has trained on from her win at Musselburgh last year and romp home on a tight rein with Hugh Menzies in 2:06, a very good time for any class of horse here at Corbie. Heat 1 saw Bigreddog running on to win for William Drysdale (2:05.6), the second heat saw Dillys Decision get a good run through on the rail on the last lap to win the second heat for Gordon Gilvear (2:05.4) from a 40yd trail. The other junior class race was won by Frosty Flyer with Owner/Trainer, Alec MacDonald on board, this horse proved he is as tough as his mother, Little Flyer - one of the best mares we have seen race here, by running on gamely and winning by 3 lengths from The Playboy in a time of 2:09.9. The final saw once again Dillys Decision getting a similar trip to the heat, with a good run through on the rail to get out on the final turn and battle home to win from Bigreddog in a time of 2:06.5. Congratulations to the Gilvear family.
